| Pistolero Another of this winemaker’s personal favorites, the 2003 Zinfandel is from Old Vines meaning they are at least 50 years old. It is very dark, rich, full-bodied with lots of velvety fruit and flavors. It is racy, audacious, loud and full-bodied as only an Old Vine wine can be, chewy to the point of nearly needing a knife and fork! The origins of this grape are misty, but DNA profiling has identified Zinfandel as a clone of the Croatian variety Crijenak and the genetic twin of the Italian Primitivo. If you’ve never had an Old Vine wine, this is truly an experience! Varietal: 100% Old Vine Zinfandel Appellation: Lodi Alcohol: 15.8% |
